[ Story ]
The twelfth in the well-known series of yakuza films originated by Fukasaku Kinji, and the directorial debut of Hashimoto Hajime.
After a lieutenant in the Oda yakuza clan is murdered, sworn brothers Yahagi Tetsuyuki (Takahashi Katsunori) and Fujimaki Hiroaki (Watanabe Ken) are mentioned as candidates to take over his position. Sugiura, a lieutenant in the Sahashi clan, which presides over the Oda clan, urges the current head of Oda to retire. However, Oda has a lingering attachment to his power, so he plots a battle-to-the-death between Tetsuyuki and Hiroaki. Meanwhile, Hiroaki's racketeering in Nagoya starts a feud with the Ryumon gang. Maeda, the head of Ryumon, asks for help from Tokai, the chairman of Kanto Domei Kai. However, Tokai teams up with Hiroaki in order to take over both the Oda and Ryumon organizations. After finding out the scheme, Tetsuyuki kills Tokai and threatenes Sugiura in order to protect the continuation of the Oda organization and protection for both Hiroaki and himself. Hiroaki thinks Tetsuyuki is betraying him and has him killed. Later he finds out that Tetsuyuki was working for his benefit.
