[ Story ]
Documentary about Hatakeyama Naoya, the photographer who represented Japan at the 2001 Venice Biennale and is known for works that meticulously construct the relationship between people and nature. Follows Hatakeyama as he photographs the landscape of his hometown of Rikuzentakada City in Iwate Prefecture in the aftermath of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Hatakeyama began photographing his hometown's transformed landscape after his family home was swept away by the tsunami and his mother passed away. Four years have passed since the earthquake and fewer people are photographing the disaster site, but Hatakeyama continues shooting landscape photos. What are his true intentions?
