This film marks the return of director Sano Kazuhiro, known as one of the "Four Heavenly Kings of Pink Films" in the 1990s, after an 18-year hiatus with multiple hats as director, screenplay writer and lead actor. The story of a man's agony upon finding out the unimaginable truth is based on director Sano's own experience with throat cancer and having his vocal cords removed.
Sasaki Hiroshi (Sano), who loses both his vocal cords and his job due to throat cancer, is shocked to learn that his daughter Kumiko (Serizawa Rina) is not his biological child. He and his wife Harumi (Enjo Hitomi) are anguished as distrust turns into obsession within the speechless Hiroshi.
