[ Story ]
The twenty-ninth Japanese-produced film in the globally popular "Godzilla" series. It dynamically portrays humanity being trampled by a gigantic monster while incorporating the perspective of the Japanese government under pressure to deal with the situation. Anno Hideaki of the "Evangelion" anime series serves as screenwriter, editor, and general director.
A cave-in occurs in the Tokyo Bay Aqua Tunnel. At an emergency meeting, Cabinet Deputy Secretary, Yaguchi (Hasegawa Hiroki), submits the possibility of a giant organism lurking in the vicinity. Though his opinion is met with laughter, something enormous rises to the surface of the ocean immediately after.
