[ Story ]

Directed by Hirayama Hideyuki of Begging for Love (Ai wo Kou Hito and OUT, based on a novel of the same title. It portrays an unsuccessful storyteller of Japanese traditional comedy called Rakugo, who matures through interaction with three inarticulate people. Two traditional Rakugo stories, "Kaen Daiko" and "Manju Kowai" are performed in the film.
Konjakutei Mitsuba (Kokubun Taichi), a Rakugo comedy storyteller, is distressed as he is unable to perform rakugo in the way that he likes it. Then a taciturn but beautiful girl, Tokawa (Karina), a bullied boy with a Kansai-region accent Murabayashi (Morinaga Yuuki), and an ex-pro baseball player turned baseball commenter Yugawara (Matsushige Yutaka), who is unable to speak freely on the microphone, come to Mitsuba to "learn how to talk". The four get to know each other through Rakugo. Tokawa and Murabayashi, having learnt Rakugo, hold a recital. The two manage to perform Rakugo, which give them confidence. Murabayashi makes friends and Tokawa reveals her feelings to the person she loves. Yugawara gathers courage from the challenge of the two, and sets off on a new path. Mitsuba, too, has matured to another level as a Rakugo storyteller through interaction with the three people.
