[ Story ]
Kato Tai's posthumous documentary The Ondekoza is remastered in 2K from a 4K scan of the 35mm film negative. It depicts young members of the performance troupe, The Ondekoza, which continues to perform taiko drumming on Sado Island.
Young people traveling across the sea arrive on Sado Island. As members of Ondekoza, they run though a snow covered town or along the coast to train their bodies, working hard each day to play traditional Japanese instruments. The powerfully perform 'Devil's Sword Dance', 'Sado Okesa', and 'Tsugaru Jongara' among other songs.
