I am Taro. I am one year old. I live with Papa and Mama in an apartment house. What surprises me is that they are surprised at everything I do.
If I laugh, they think I am wonderful. If I take a few steps, they squeal with joy. I think it's all a little silly but they love me, so I don't mind the fuss they make over me.
We moved to the suburbs. I like it here. Especially since Grandma came to live with us. Sometimes, she and Mama disagree on how to raise me. But most of the time I keep them too busy to argue.
One day Grandma went on a long trip. I don't understand why Mama cried and cried. Suddenly, I am two years old with two candles on my birthday cake. I feel I am a big man now.
