Goichi starts working as an apprentice in Shukaku Temple (common name) in Kyoto in spring of 1944, which he worships. However, the temple becomes no more than a tourist attraction after the World War II. The life style of priests in the temple also changes because of economic wealth. Goichi despairs of it and falls into ruin. One of Kon Ichikawa's masterpieces was restored as a 4K digital remastered version and it will debut in Japan.
