When Hideyuki Mishima, protege of Gonzaburo Noda, a famous jujitsu master is defeated by Baba, student of Judo, originated by Jigoro Kano, Noda realizes that jujitsu has been supplanted by the new form and young Mishima goes to the Kodokan at Tokyo.
In three years Mishima attains the rank of third Dan. One night he saves Okyo, a popular singer from being molested by drunkards, to earn the envy of Kimura who is in love with her.
Mishima finally becomes a forth Dan and he and Okyo are now inseparable. Old Prof. Noda is ailing but he will not recall Mishima, as he does not wish to disturb his training.
After Noda's protege defeats Kimura in the annual tournament, Omitsu, the old teacher's daughter, arrives in Tokyo with the ashes of her father.
And Okyo realizes that this is a reunion of two lovers and leaves Mishima and Omitsu alone.
