A young couple start on their honeymoon. There is nothing to mar the girl's happiness as she sits beside the man she loves and respects. As night falls her heart is divided between expectation and fear, for tomorrow she will really be a wife. Yet, despite his tenderness, their marriage is not consummated. At first she thinks he is being overly considerate. But she soon discovers that such is not the case. He has had a history of impotence and hoped that marriage and his love for her would cure him. And so their life turns into a nightmare of mutual suspicion and jealousy.
