[ Story ]

Young Dr. Zaizen is intent upon making a name for himself in the big hospital in which he works and fully intends to take the place of the head doctor, due to retire shortly. In order to do this he curries favour, plays politics - and neglects his patients to the extent that one of them dies. He is made head doctor, but the victim's widow takes him to court where, it becomes apparent, the ethics of the entire Japanese medical profession are on trial.
