Journalist Machida is trying to uncover the secrets of a call-girl organization. One day in the street he sees a girl he thinks can help him but he loses her in the crowd. A female-fortune-teller who knows her tells him of an inn where he can find her, but there Machida is given whisky which has been drugged. Next morning when he awakes, the girl lies dead beside him choked with his tie. He escapes and starts his search for traces of the female-fortune-teller and a man who took him to the inn. One night, he meets Tokiko, a waitress of the inn and while questioning her on the street, she is hit by a car coming from the opposite direction. He loses an important witness but finds a paper wrapper from a drug package in her hair and as Tokiko died she uttered the name "Sabu!" Machida determines to find the female-fortune-teller and the mysterious "Sabu"…
