[ Story ]
This is the fast action story of Shinji, the guitar playing vagrant who on coming to the Sagara pastureland finds the Matoba group trying to take over the property from Sagara Nobuo who owes Matoba a gambling debt and is also infatuated with his sister who operates the Malacca Bar.
At the bar Shinji once again meets a killer named Tachioka and sees Nobuo lose everything in gambling.
Hearing of the crisis, Nobuo's sister, Kyoko, returns from Tokyo where she is living to avoid the persistent proposals from Matoba. Shinji, now employed by the gambler is ordered to kill Tachioka, but later runs foul of Matoba and is imprisoned in the basement of the bar. As Matoba is about to violate Kyoko, Shinji escapes in time to save her. But he is recaptured and left to shoot things out with Tachioka. But the two now understand the true character of Matoba and in the midst of a gunfight the police burst in and arrest the Matoba group.
The next day, guitar playing Shinji goes on his way, the sound of his guitar echoing over the plain and the image of Kyoko in his mind.
"Where are you going?" enquires Tachioka. "A bird of passage never knows his own path," replies Shinji
