[ Story ]

A rich Japanese magazine owner decides to open a South Seas Paradise Park and sends an expedition to collect various birds, animals, and plants. Once on their remote island, however, Kurosaki, Itoko, and Tonooka, find a huge egg which hatches, and a baby Gappa crawls out.
The expedition members are delighted and take the little creature home, not realizing that this will infuriate the infant's parents. Sure enough, finding their baby gone, they set off for Japan.
In their search, they destroy the hot spring resort of Atami, and most of the Mt. Fuji - Hakone area. Nothing can stop them. They burn the jet planes with their fiery breath, and even missiles and atom bombs have no effect.
Now in Tokyo, the two adult Gappa methodically begin to destroy the capital. There seems nothing to save Tokyo until it is discovered that they only want their child. So the baby Gappa is airlifted to Haneda International Airport.
The parents are delighted to see their child again. One by one they take turns teaching it to fly, and finally the entire family roars aloft, and make for their small but happy island.
