[ Story ]
A re-make by Morita Yoshimitsu South Bound (South Bound) of Kurosawa Akira's action period drama Tsubaki Sanjuro. The script of those days by Kikushima Ryuzo, Oguni Hideo and Kurosawa Akira is used.
Nine young samurai, including Isaka Iori (Matsuyama Kenichi) submit a letter of opinions to Mutsuta, the Chief Retainer of the castellan to cleanup the corruption, but it goes unheard. Kikui, the Senior Chapero, gives a ready consent and arranges for the young samurai to gather at a shrine that night. While the samurai wait for Kikui at the shrine, Tsubaki Sanjuro (Oda Yuji), a lone samurai who happens to listen to their discussion in the back room, comes out and points out to them that the mastermind of the corruption is Kikui himself. His statement is correct, and the building is surrounded by Kikui's men. Tsubaki's quick wits help them to narrowly escape the danger. Mutsuta, in the meantime, is caught by Kikui who feared the letter of opinion may disclose him as the mastermind. A desperate search reveals that Mutsuta is kept in the house next door to where the young samurai used to gather. While Tubaki draws the attention of the enemy, the young samurai barge into the house to successfully rescue Mutsuta, Having ensured the rescue succeeds, Tsubaki disappears again.
