[ Story ]

Drama addressing the themes of humanity and nature through Indonesia's beautiful ocean and the friendships among youths whose origins transcend nationality and religion. Japan, France and Indonesia co-production. Directed by Fukada Koji, who won the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize with Harmonium at the 69th Cannes Film Festival.
A mysterious man (Dean Fujioka) is found collapsed along the seaside at Banda Aceh. Takako (Tsuruta Mayu) and her son Takashi (Taiga), who are working on disaster recovery projects, decide to call this unidentified man "Laut" and take him in.
