The everyday lives of people living in a harbor town in Okayama Prefecture is the focus of this intimate documentary. The film was an official selection to the 2018 Berlin International film Festival.
Loneliness and kindness hover over a small seaside town looking out on a beautiful inland sea and its gentle waves. The various stories quietly told by the people living there are elucidated through delicate monochrome imagery. This is the latest film by Soda Kazuhiro who won critical acclaim around the world for Campaign and Mental. Free of narration, music or onscreen text, this is his seventh "observational film".
