[ Story ]
The film adaptation of Shizukui Shusuke's judicial mystery novel depicting the confrontation between two prosecutors over the investigation of a murder case. Harada Masato, who has worked on many socially relevant films, writes and directs.
An elderly couple are stabbed to death in the city. Elite prosecutor for the Tokyo Public Prosecutors Office's investigative section, Mogami (Kimura Takuya), pairs up with novice prosecutor Okino (Ninomiya Kazunari) to begin the inquiry. Before long Matsukura (Sako Yoshi), a material witness to a murder case already beyond the statute of limitations, emerges as the suspect. The victim in that past case was an acquaintance of Mogami who now tenaciously hounds Matsukura.
