Ponoc Short Films Theatre is a celebration of short animation from Japan. The theme of the first installation, Volume 1, is Modest Heroes, with animation veterans portraying the modest heroes of today. "Kanini & Kanino" is the grand adventure fantasy of two crab brothers, the first original story created by Mary and The Witch's Flower's Hiromasa Yonebayashi. "Life Ain't Gonna Lose" is a moving human drama of the love between a mother and her boy, based on a true story, presented by Yoshiyuki Momose, the "right-hand man" to famed animation director Isao Takahata. "Invisible" is the action spectacle of the lonely and solitary fight of a man who now can not be seen, drawn and animated by Akihiko Yamashita, a lead animator of films by Hayao Miyazaki. The courage of two brothers, the bond of mother and son, and one man's battle to exist. The small tears and kindness depicted in these three stories join together to create a strong impact.
