Author Takasato Shina's popular mystery novel is adapted to film. In the director's chair is the very experienced Kuma Shinji who has worked as an assistant director on films by Hiroki Ryuichi and Nishikawa Miwa among others.
Kaei (Nagase Ren) becomes the 27th generation head of the Karasuma family after his father's retirement. When he returns home from studying abroad, the butler is not Otori (Okuda Eiji) whom he's faithfully relied on since childhood, but an unsmiling newcomer named Kisaragi (Kiyohara Sho). Though he is reluctant Kaei is bonded to Kisaragi as master and servant. Then a crime occurs at a party to which he was invited.
