[ Story ]
The film adaptation of Saeki Yasuhide's samurai period novel series which in total has surpassed 20 million copies printed. Joining Matsuzaka Tori in his first leading role in a period film are Kimura Fumino, Yoshine Kyoko, Emoto Tasuku, Sugino Yosuke, Sasaki Kuranosuke, Tanihara Shosuke, Nakamura Baijaku, and Emoto Akira among other talented actors.
Sakazaki Iwane (Matsuzaka) becomes entangled in the tragic deaths of two friends in his homeland of Bungo-Sekimae. He decides to leave his domain, parting his fiancée Nao (Yoshine) whom he was soon to wed and becomes a vagrant masterless samurai with nothing more to lose.
