Drama commemorating the centennial of Shochiku Films. Directed by maestro Yamada Yoji of the "Tora-san" series and The Little House, which won the Silver Bear at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.
Go (Sawada Kenji) has been spurned his wife Yoshiko (Miyamoto Nobuko) and family because of his enthusiasm for gambling. Go as a youth (Suda Masaki) loved cinema and worked at a film studio, but the wheels of destiny went awry when he and his friend fell in love with a beautiful girl (Nagano Mei).
