Yuasa Masaaki directs this musical animated film adaptation of the novel "THE TALE OF THE HEIKE: THE INU-OH CHAPTERS" which is based on the true story of Noh master Inu-oh who performed between the Nanboku-cho Period and Muromachi Era. Manga artist Matsumoto Taiyo, who worked with Yuasa on Ping Pong The Animation, created the character.
Born with unique characteristics, Inu-oh encounters a young biwa (lute) priest by the name of Tomona. The two become inseparable friends. As they mutually foster one another's talents, they release successive hit songs and gradually rise to stardom.
