This documentary is a close-up portrait of photographer Moriyama Daido who won the 2019 Hasselblad Award, referred to as the "Nobel Prize of photography", and is still active as a photographer even at over 80 years of age. Serving as director, cinematographer, and editor is Iwama Gen, an over 20 year veteran of planning and producing television programs.
The film closely follows the process for the reissue project of Moriyama's 1968 debut photo book, 'Japan A Photo Theater'. Turning the camera not only on Moriyama as he takes photographs, but his exchanges with bookbinders and editors as well, the documentary studies his day-to-day creative work.
