[ Story ]
Documentary exploring the appeal of "Tagore songs" about nature and devotion in Bengal from poet Rabindranath Tagore, who was the first non-Western Nobel laureate in literature. Debut film from 26-year-old Sasaki Mika, who learned about Bengali culture while studying at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
Tagore lived through the turbulence of British colonialism and left behind over 2,000 songs. The film travels through the land where the songs come alive and uncovers universal appeal that resonates with Japanese culture and longing for the past.
