The Connecting Bridge director Imamura Ayako spent ten years covering people who cannot hear and disasters for this documentary film.
When Imamura visited the Great East Japan Earthquake disaster area immediately after the catastrophe, she was seized by the desire to let people know about the situation facing those who cannot hear. A decade later she continues to visit the disaster site, and she has also documented the lives of people who cannot hear in the midst of hardships including the Kumamoto earthquake, the 2018 Japan floods and COVID-19.
