Sato Shogo's 2014 similarly titled novel is adapted into this live-action film. At the helm is Takahata Shuta who has worked on a variety of film genres. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Fujii Kiyomi of Rurouni Kenshin.
Tsuda Shinichi (Fujiwara Tatsuya) is a writer who was once praised as a genius. He has his editor, Torikai Nahomi (Tsuchiya Tao), read the new novel he is currently writing. However, Torikai can't believe it is just a story in a novel. So when she starts to corroborate whether it is truly fictional, Torikai will find a shocking truth awaiting her.
