[ Story ]

This drama depicts the harsh situation surrounding the Kurds, who are called "a people without a nation," from the perspective of a 17-year-old girl. Directed by Kawawada Emma, an up-and-coming member of director Kore-eda Hirokazu's filmmakers' group, Bumpuku.
17-year-old Sarya (Arashi Lina) lives in Japan with her father, younger sister, and younger brother. She meets Sota (Okudaira Daiken), a high school student in Tokyo, at her part-time job and confides in him alone about her Kurdish origins. One day, Sarya and her family receive news that their application for refugee status has been rejected.
