Film adaptation of Sato Shogo's novel about true love, which won the 157th Naoki Prize in 2017. Helmed by maestro Hiroki Ryuichi, renowned for his convincing character portraits.
Work and family life was going smoothly for Osanai Tsuyoshi (Oizumi Yo) until his beloved wife Kozue (Shibasaki Ko) and daughter Ruri die in a car accident. Then a guy named Misumi Akihiko (Meguro Ren) shows up and says Ruri was on her way to see him on the day of the accident. He starts talking about "Ruri" (Arimura Kasumi), the woman he loved.
