Director Shiota Akihiko, known for Harmful Insect and Canary, takes on this coming-of-age drama starring Shintani Yuzumi and Hidaka Marin, whom he met on the 2019 movie Farewell Song, as the main characters, with an original script written with the two in mind.
Yuki (Shintani), a high school sophomore suffering from a serious chronic illness, fatefully meets a girl of the same age named Maki (Hidaka) on the beach one day. Yuki is captivated by Maki's singing voice, when she suddenly starts to sing. The two try to form a band in an attempt to use her beautiful voice to help the world see itself in a new light.
