A human drama by Sakamoto Junji, a film director at the peak of his maturity, who wrote an original screenplay for Ito Kentaro, an actor forty years younger than himself.
Toguchi Jun (Ito), who lives in a port town, does not attend vocational school, hangs out with a group of semi-delinquents, and lives a life of idleness while begging money from his friends and women. His parents, Yoshikazu (Kobayashi Kaoru) and Michiko (Yo Kimiko), who run a shipping business, are worried about their successor, but Jun shows no interest and there is no real communication between them. Then an incident occurs in which one of Jun's friends is attacked by someone.
