This renowned comedy about family life demonstrates the directorial prowess of Morita Yoshimitsu, who passed away the age of 61 in 2011. Selected as the top Japanese film in Kinema Junpo's 57th Best Ten list for 1983.
Everyone is on edge in the Numata family, where second son Shigeyuki (Miyakawa Ichirota) is studying for his high school entrance exams. The tutor they hire is an eccentric guy named Yoshimoto (Matsuda Yusaku), who has been enrolled in a third-tier college for seven years straight. He has an odd-ball approach to education, but Shigeyuki's grades go up.
