The Great Passage director Ishii Yuya scripts and helms this adaptation of Hemmi Yo's same-named novel about the real-life murders of people with disabilities.
Once-popular novelist Dojima Yoko (Miyazawa Rie) lives frugally with her husband Shohei (Odagiri Joe), who refers to her as the "master." She starts working at a facility for the severely disabled located deep in a forest. There she meets residents who can't talk and a colleague named Sato (Isomura Hayato), and before long she witnesses other workers inflicting violence on the residents.
