[ Story ]

A human drama depicting folklore spun within nature and liberation. The director is Kaneko Masakazu, whose films such as Ring Wandering have garnered attention at international film festivals.
The year is 1958, when Japan's period of rapid economic growth began. Yucha (Ariyama Saneyoshi) and his family, who live a mountain village, are threatened with damage caused by severe flooding from an intensifying typhoon. At the end of summer vacation in the village, the kamishibai (paper-picture) storyteller performs a tale of sorrow about the village maiden Oyo (Hanamura Asuka) and mountain dweller Saku (Aoi Yo). The story says that a terrifying flood occurs once every few decades.
