Drama about the social welfare system. Director Yoshida Kota was passionate about bringing this story to the screen, drawing on his own experiences as a social welfare recipient.
Naoko (Nishihara Aki) is living with her with her mother Kiyo (Miya Naoko) when her father Eiji (Onozuka Rao), who disappeared years ago, returns home. Although bewildered, Naoko respects Kiyo's desire to take him in, and they begin living together. A decade later, Kiyo is suffering from dementia and Eiji's chronic illness keeps him from working, and one day the family applies for public assistance...
