[ Story ]
It's baseball season in the year 200X, and the professional team Hanshin Tigers is doing very well, thanks to the masked pitcher, Mister Rookie, a sudden star on the scene. The mysterious player is actually just an ordinary salaryman, Ohara Koji (Nagashima Kazushige). The only people who know his real identity are Segawa (Hashizume Isao), the Tigers' coach, and Yan (Kunimura Jun), the masseuse who introduced Koji to Segawa. Thanks to Yan's treatment of his shoulder, Koji has recovered his fast pitch, but does not want to leave his day job at the office, in consideration of his age and his family's future. Segawa has offered him a part-time pitching position limited to Koshien, the Tigers' home field, but now Koji is getting tired of balancing his day work with baseball. He takes a to-hell-with-it-all attitude and gets struck from the roster. His wife (Tsuruta Mayu) finds out about his double identity, but is upset that he would give up baseball so easily. "Don't let go of your dreams," she says angrily. Backed by his family, Koji stands on the pitching mound again, this time taking his mask off. This film is genuine baseball entertainment starring former baseball players from real life.
