[ Story ]
This is the first film adaptation of the million-selling RPG franchise "Tales of" series. Film production company, Production I.G of Ghost in the Shell (Ghost in the Shell / Kokakukidotai) fame, took charge of the animation production, while Kamei Kanta, visual effects supervisor in Kill Bill: Vol.1 animation sequence, makes his directorial debut. The story is a prequel of the game, several years after the end of the Great War between humans and monsters. One day, two young cadets of the Imperial Knights, Yuri (voiced by Toriumi Kosuke) and Flynn (voiced by Miyano Mamoru) are sent out to investigate a mysterious anomaly. So begins a great adventure, in which the young knights' beliefs and sense of justice will be challenged in a struggle to defend the peace of the world.
