Production I.G produced the fourth season "Intrigue" for the "Die Neue These" animation based on the mammoth SF novel "Legend of the Galactic Heroes" by popular author Tanaka Yoshiki.
The Galactic Empire is supported by reforms enacted by supreme leader Reinhard (Miyano Mamoru), and the Free Planets Alliance faces declining national power despite the efforts of the "invincible magician" Yang (Suzumura Kenichi). The balance of power shifts between these two states that have been embroiled in war for 150 years.
