This film adaptation of Naoki Award-winning writer Miyabe Miyuki's full-length debut novel is about the murder of a high school baseball player and the schemes of a pharmaceutical company, told from multiple angles in chapters. The film begins with the murder of a high school baseball star. Private detective Kayoko (Kato Rosa), who happened to be hired to search for the victim's runaway younger brother Shinya (Nakamura Aoi), begins to hunt for the truth with her dog Masa. Meanwhile, it comes to light that industry giant Mitsui Pharmaceuticals was being blackmailed for drugs it had developed in the past. The two seemingly unrelated cases begin to converge.
