[ Story ]

Non-fiction film portraying the story "Letters from Ikuko: Fifteen Years Old, a Daily Battle against Cancer" in which a housewife and a girl meet in a hospital and form a firm bond through correspondence. It is a special selection work (for children, young people and households) and a selected work of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Fukushima Kimiko (Hara Hideko), who has a chronic disease, is in the same hospital room as Ikuko (Miyazaki Karen), who has an incurable disease. The two become close and exchange letters even after Kimiko leaves the hospital, encouraging each other. However, Ikuko's disease gets gradually worse.
