[ Story ]
A live-action adaptation of the eponymous comic by popular manga author Saibara Rieko, whose works continue to provide inspiration for film and television series. The story is based on her personal life, and although an animated television version focused on the slapstick antics of her children, this film is about the bond between her family and her alcoholic husband. Every day is a busy blur of work and child-rearing for manga author and mother of two, Saibara (Koizumi Kyoko). Meanwhile, her husband Kamoshida (Nagase Masatoshi), a former war photographer, is forced to undergo hospital treatment for his excessive drinking.
