The first animated feature film based on the popular action video game that has also become an animated television series and a stage production. Set in the Warring States Period when rival warlords vied for supremacy, it gives a bold fictional spin to actual military commanders from history including Date Masamune, who engage in decisive winner-takes-all combat in the Battle of Sekigahara. After defeating Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Date Masamune (voice: Nakai Kazuya) of Mutsu Province is confronted by Toyotomi's loyal vassal Ishida Mitsunari (voice: Seki Tomokazu) who burns for vengeance. Meanwhile, Tokugawa Ieyasu (voice: Okawa Toru), who remonstrated against the conflict between the forces of Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin in Kawanakajima, sets his plans in motion to unite the nation.
