[ Story ]
Japan-Korea co-produced documentary tracking the restoration of the so-called Tamamushi (or Jewel Beetle) Shrine, a roughly 1400-year-old ornamentation. Director Inui Hiroaki has been following the Tamamushi Shrine since completing Spirits of Wood and Metal, recipient of the Best Documentary Film Prize from Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs. The restoration of historical artworks made from the wings of the tamamushi happened to begin at the same time in Japan and Korea. The restoration by craftsmen in both countries is reported by fourth-generation Korean-Japanese actress Iriya Mai. Delves into new possibilities in relations between Korea and Japan through the jewel beetle.
