Documentary that faithfully depicts women who have survived hardship like abuse and prejudice as they face society by telling their stories through theater. Director Sakagami Kaori, known for her wide-reaching social activism on issues of violence and women, shot the film over an 8-year period.
The Medea Project: Theater for Incarcerated Women is a theater group created in a San Francisco jail. Ex-convict and HIV-positive participants search for new ways to live through performing their own sorrow-filled stories.
