Adaptation of Sada Masashi's novel by the same title. Family members who have grown distant from each other are drawn together by a grandfather's illness. Director Tanaka Mitsutoshi won the Best Artistic Contribution Award at the 37th Montreal International Film Festival for Ask This of Rikyu.
Shunsuke (Ogata Naoto) is a businessman whose family has become dysfunctional. Everyone has been ignoring signs of dementia in his father Shuntaro (Fuji Tatsuya), who lives with the family. One evening Shunsuke plans their first family trip after hearing his father talk about a memory of a temple in Tsuruga.
