[ Story ]
Psychological horror film from Miike Takashi based on Tsuruya Nanboku IV's kabuki play "Yotsuya Kaidan." Ask This of Rikyu's Ichikawa Ebizo also contributed to the planning and production. Ichikawa channels his experience as a kabuki actor to enthusiastically deliver a "modern-day Yotsuya Kaidan."
Actress Miyuki (Shibasaki Ko) plays Oiwa and actor Hasegawa Kosuke (Ichikawa) plays Iemon in the stage play "Shin Yotsuya Kaidan." They are also lovers in real life, and the boundary between theater and reality becomes blurred as they rehearse.
