The first feature-length work of fiction from director Ota Shingo, whose previous film The End of the Special Time We Were Allowed received praise both in Japan and abroad. It uses a documentary-style approach to depict young people in the Nishinari district of Osaka City, where efforts to clean up the streets are gaining momentum. Screened in the Japanese Cinema Splash section of the 2014 Tokyo International Film Festival.
Suyama (Ota), an assistant director for a television news show, travels to Nishinari to search for a friend who has gone missing. He joins forces with a schizophrenic man named Motoyama (Motoyama Dai) he meets there, and begins to shoot footage of the young people of Nishinari in the hope of turning it into a program...
