A feature compiled from an animated television series based on Nihei Tsutomu's science fiction manga. Taking the form of an orthodox robot anime, it presents a powerful depiction of a battle to the death between humanity and mysterious lifeforms. As well as the addition of new and unreleased scenes, it also features revamped sound effects.
1,000 years have passed since incommunicable alien beings destroyed the solar system. The human race has barely survived and lives on a massive spaceship called Sidonia, searching for a new home. Nagate (voice: Osaka Ryota), who has been raised in secret on the ship's lowest level, ends up being chosen as a trainee to pilot a humanoid weapon.
