[ Story ]

Film adaptation of the historical manga by Sugiura Hinako, winner of the 13th Japan Cartoonists' Association Award. Depicts the tumultuous lives of three young men who belong to the Shogitai, the elite corps supporting the Shogunate at the close of the Edo period. Official selection for the 39th Montreal World Film Festival.
It is the fourth year of the Keio period, or 1868, marking the demise of the Tokugawa Shogunate after 260 years in power. Shogunate supporter Kiwamu (Yagira Yuya) suddenly breaks off his engagement with the younger sister of Teijiro (Okayama Amane). He figured on joining the Shogitai security force to shield his family from blame. Then, Kiwamu reunites with Masanosuke (Seto Koji).
