This is the first feature film directed by 75-year-old TV drama director, Sembon Yoshiko. Five women from different generations and backgrounds meet at an old house in a seaside town, where they regain the vigor to live and start moving forward confidently. This is a story of those women as they prepare to start their "new lives".
Elderly Yasue (Kagawa Kyoko) is on her way to visit her son and his wife, accompanied by her granddaughter Akemi (Miyaji Mao). Along the way, they visit a house in Tateyama, near Tokyo, where she had been evacuated during the war. In the house live Mitsuko (Asada Miyoko) and her primary school age daughter, Rika (Sakano Mari). Mitsuko is waiting for her husband who has disappeared. While Yasue cherishes her memory of the house, Ohara Midori (Kikikilin) turns up at the house. She says she used to rent this house and she heard a rumor that it may be demolished. The five women chat along together like old friends, sharing confidences almost instantaneously. This encounter rekindles important feelings that they have forgotten, giving the five women cherished experiences.
